Theo Wins CineSolar Award at the 37th Kinoforum

Theo, the short film directed by Jo Galvv and Monica Palazzo, received the CineSolar Award at the 37th Kinoforum – São Paulo International Short Film Festival.

Selected among the films in the Kids and Teens’ Showcase, Theo will participate for one year in the CineSolar circuit, Brazil’s first traveling cinema powered by solar energy. Through free screenings across the country, the initiative promotes access to audiovisual productions while encouraging sustainable practices, social inclusion, and the dissemination of solar energy technology.

As part of the non-exclusive award, Theo will receive a R$3,000 prize and will reach audiences in different regions of Brazil through CineSolar’s traveling screenings.

Set in 1980s Brazil, Theo follows a child who defies gender norms while navigating school life, challenging expectations and discovering their identity amid social pressures.
