Theo Selected for the 25th Florianópolis Children’s Film Festival
Theo, the short film co-directed by Jo Galvv and Mônica Palazzo, has been officially selected for the competitive program of the 25th Florianópolis Children’s Film Festival (Mostra de Cinema Infantil de Florianópolis), which will take place from October 9 to 17, 2026.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the festival selected 134 films, including 130 short films from 17 countries and 20 Brazilian states, all of which will compete in the official selection. The program also features invited feature films.
Screenings will take place at the Teatro Ademir Rosa and the Gilberto Gerlach Cinema at the Centro Integrado de Cultura (CIC), as well as through traveling screenings for public schools and communities across Greater Florianópolis. A selection of films will also be be available online through the festival's dedicated streaming platforms.
Recognized as one of Brazil’s most important festivals dedicated to children’s cinema, the Florianópolis Children's Film Festival has championed films that foster creativity, diversity, and meaningful dialogue with young audiences for over two decades.
The selection marks another milestone in Theo’s festival journey following its world premiere at BFI Flare and subsequent screenings across Brazil.
